Mechanism of cell division

Only a thorough understanding and characterization of the molecular mechanisms of cell physiology can provide the tools to effectively manipulate such processes in a pathological context. A correct cell division is crucial for cell physiology of both normal and cancer cells; therefore, the characterization of the mechanisms underlying its regulation is key to provide the knowledge to generate targeted efficient treatments addressing cancer cell proliferation and hence tumor maintenance.
