A comparative selection procedure, based on qualifications and interview, is launched for the awarding of a research grant, lasting 6 months, for The Molecular and Pharmaco-Epidemiology Unit of the Department of Experimental Oncology, intended for a data scientist (biostatistician).
- ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
Those who possess the following requirements and/or qualifications can participate in the selection:
- or MSc. in biostatistics-related subject (statistics, biology, bioinformatics, mathematics, physics, etc.).
- Programming skills (SAS, R, preferable).
- Good English level.
- Attention to details.
- Ability to multitask, work and learn independently, and be self-motivated.
- Ability to work in team and desire to collaborate with other biostatisticians in the group is essential.
- A strong work ethic and commitment to timely delivery of results.
- PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master degrees in Biostatistics or Medical Statistics or equal experience.
- Prior experience working with large-scale datasets using high performance computing environments is desirable.
- Experience with cancer studies and epidemiology.
- Experience with database construction and maintenance.
- RESPONSIBILITIES
The selected person will be involved and trained on the following activities:
- Perform univariate and multivariate analyses of clinical and biological data, with possible application of machine learning approaches for –omics data.
- Participate in the study design and interpretation of results.
- Contribute to statistical analysis process optimization and standardization.
- Participate to the development of scientific databases and their application in clinical studies.
- Writing study protocols and documentation.
- Draft scientific papers.
