Temporary fellow position (Ref. 2025-03-SP/15)

One Temporary fellow position is available in the “Hormone-Related Cancers and Stem Cell Pathobiology” unit, led by Prof. Pece Salvatore, at the European Institute of Oncology (Milan, Italy).

The intracellular heterogeneity represents one of the main causes of the variability in the clinical-pathological course of the neoplastic pathologies, therefore the identification of new "tumor stem markers", useful for the prognostic and therapeutic stratification of patients, remains a goal to be achieved in the perspective of personalized medicine.

The aim of this project is so to develop biomarkers through "multiplexed" immuno-histochemistry/immunofluorescence technologies and through in situ transcriptomic analysis, together with the development of computerized analysis pipelines.

The successful candidate will be trained and involved in the analyses of a single-cell RNA-seq profiling of human prostate cancer samples with different clinical-pathological characteristics, and different clinical and biological aggressiveness.

The candidate will also participate in the analyses with “multiplexed immunofluorescence” and “in situ transcriptomics” technologies for the individuation of intra-tissue spatial information and tumor-microenvironment.

The position will be immediately available and will end on October 2025; we strongly encourage temporary fellows to apply to SEMM selection (European School of Molecular Medicine), in order to join our PhD Programme.

Requirements:
- Degree in Medicine and Surgery / Biology / degrees related to biomedical sciences.
- Knowledge of procedures in cell and molecular biology field,
- Knowledge of the analysis in vitro and in vivo model systems, for the study of cellular phenotypes - Experience in post-omic technologies (transcriptomic, proteomic, bulk and single – cell RNA/DNA sequencing, spatial transcriptomics/ immunofluorescence)
- Good Knowledge of English language.

To apply, please send a cover letter describing your research experience and interests, a CV and references to: [email protected]
