AVVISO PROCEDURA DI SELEZIONE DI UN RICERCATORE POST DOC (Ref.2024-07-SC/65)

Per sostenere la realizzazione delle attività previste dal progetto dal titolo “Prognostic significance and biological function of LINE-1 hypomethylation in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma” (PNRR-MCNT1-2023-1237719) finanziato dal Piano Nazionale Ripresa e Resilienza (PNRR) del Ministero della Salute (CUP J43C24000450006), l’Istituto Europeo di Oncologia è alla ricerca di una figura di ricercatore post-doc presso il Laboratorio di Ricerca in Viruses and Cancer diretto dalla Dr.ssa Susanna Chiocca con un contratto della durata di 12 mesi, eventualmente rinnovabile.

Il progetto prevede la raccolta di campioni da pazienti con tumore nel distretto testa collo ed orofaringe e l’allestimento di analisi di trascrittomica e proteomica, su tessuti interamente derivati da pazienti. Questi campioni verranno sottoposti ad analisi multi-omiche (epi-proteomica, proteomica, trascrittomica), con lo scopo di identificare e successivamente validare sia biomarcatori prognostici che nuovi targets terapeutici.
La tipologia di contratto ed il salario saranno commisurati all’esperienza del candidato
REQUISITI DI AMMISSIONE:
- Diploma di Laurea vecchio ordinamento o di Laurea Magistrale in discipline scientifiche STEM (a titolo esemplificativo: Medicina e Chirurgia, Biotecnologie, Scienze Biologiche, Farmacia, Chimica, Ingegneria Biomedica o altra laurea equipollente correlata alle Scienze della Vita). I candidati in possesso di titolo di studio conseguito all’estero dovranno allegare alla domanda di partecipazione la dichiarazione di valore in loco rilasciata dalle Rappresentanze Diplomatiche italiane all’estero;
- Dottorato/PhD in scienze mediche, biologia molecolare e/o cellulare, biochimica, capacita’computazionali.
- Comprovata esperienza in attività di laboratorio di almeno tre anni;
- Ottima e comprovata conoscenza della lingua inglese;
- Ottime conoscenze (teoriche e pratiche) di tecnologie di biologia molecolare e cellulare.
Titoli preferenziali:
- Pubblicazioni in riviste peer-reviewed.
- Per i candidati italiani, esperienza in laboratori all’estero.
- Capacita’ bioinformatiche/computazionali
Competenze sociali ed organizzative:
- capacità di interazione con attori diversi, ottime doti relazionali e spiccate attitudini a lavorare in team;
- dinamicità e attitudine al problem solving e al multitasking;
- eccellenti doti di organizzazione del lavoro, orientamento a lavorare per obiettivi secondo tempistiche stabilite e capacità di gestire le urgenze;

DESCRIZIONE DELLE ATTIVITA’
- Analisi di tessuti derivati da paziente
- Allestimento di modelli di studio
- Esecuzione di saggi funzionali in vitro ed in silico ; metodi in vitro e in silico per la valutazione dei risultati.
TERMINI E MODALITA’ DI PRESENTAZIONE DELLA DOMANDA

MODALITA’ DI SELEZIONE E PROCEDURA DI VALUTAZIONE
L’individuazione della figura con cui instaurare il rapporto di collaborazione oggetto della presente selezione, avverrà attraverso una valutazione comparativa dei candidati per titoli ed eventuale colloquio orale.
La valutazione consisterà nell’esame del curriculum formativo del/la candidato/a, volto ad accertare il possesso delle conoscenze necessarie per l’espletamento delle attività che interessano il Progetto di cui in premessa.
L’eventuale colloquio orale sarà volto ad approfondire le esperienze formative e professionali maturate dal/la candidato/a, le motivazioni personali e le attitudini, nonché a valutare la disponibilità all'attività multidisciplinare e al confronto tecnico-scientifico. La mancata presentazione al colloquio, per qualsiasi motivo, sarà ritenuta rinuncia alla selezione.

To support the implementation of the activities foreseen by the project entitled “Prognostic significance and biological function of LINE-1 hypomethylation in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma” (PNRR-MCNT1-2023-1237719) funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR) of the Ministry of Health (CUP J43C24000450006), the European Institute of Oncology is looking for a post-doctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Research Viruses and Cancer directed by Dr. Susanna Chiocca with a 12-month contract, eventually renewable.

The project involves the collection of samples from patients with tumors in the head, neck, and oropharyngeal regions, and the preparation of transcriptomic and proteomic analyses on tissues entirely derived from patients. These samples will undergo multi-omic analyses (epi-proteomics, proteomics, transcriptomics) with the aim of identifying and subsequently validating both prognostic biomarkers and new therapeutic targets.
Type of contract and salary conditions will be based on the candidate’s profile.
Admission requirements:
- Master's degree in STEM scientific disciplines (by way of example: Medicine and Surgery, Biotechnology, Biological Sciences, Pharmacy, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering or other equivalent degree related to Life Sciences). Applicants with a qualification obtained abroad must enclose with their application the declaration of value in loco issued by the Italian Diplomatic Representations abroad;
- PhD in medical sciences, molecular and/or cellular biology, biochemistry or related disciplines. Biocomputational skills.
- Proven experience in laboratory work of at least three years;
- Excellent and proven knowledge of the English language;
- Excellent knowledge (theoretical and practical) of molecular and cellular biology technologies
Preferential titles:
- Publications in peer-reviewed journals;
- For Italian candidates, experience in laboratories abroad;
- Bioinformatics/computational skills.
Social and Organizational Skills:
- Ability to interact with diverse stakeholders, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong aptitude for teamwork;
- Dynamism and a strong inclination for problem-solving and multitasking;

JOB ACTIVITIES
- Analysis of patient-derived tissues;
• Development of study models;
• Execution of functional assays in vitro and in silico; in vitro and in silico methods for evaluating results.

SELECTION AND EVALUATION PROCEDURE
The identification of the fellow will take place through a comparative evaluation of the candidates on the basis of qualifications and a possible oral interview.
The assessment will consist of an examination of the candidate's curriculum vitae, aimed at ascertaining the possession of the knowledge necessary for the performance of the activities involved in the above-mentioned project.
The oral interview, if any, will be aimed at examining in depth the candidate's educational and professional experiences, personal motivations and aptitudes, as well as assessing the candidate's availability for multidisciplinary activities and technical-scientific discussions. Failure to attend the interview, for any reason whatsoever, will be considered as renouncement of the selection.
