We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to join the Mucosal Immunology lab of Federica Facciotti at the European Institute of Oncology (IEO) in Milan.
The group is focused on the functional interaction between the immune system, the gut microbiota and the tumor microenvironment in the context of colorectal cancer. The lab is located at the IEO Campus, a stimulating research environment that allows a close interaction between the clinics and the lab.
Available state-of-the-art facilities at the Campus include Illumina Novaseq and HiSeq, ION Torrent S5, 10x Chromium, Oxford Nanopore sequencers. Imaging cutting edge technologies are available, including multiple confocal microscopies (Leica DM6-B, SP8-CSU, SP8-FSU, TIRF), equipment for live cell-imaging, 3 cytofluorimetric analyzers (2 FacsCelesta, 1 MACSQuant) and 4 cell sorters (FACSMelody, FacsAria Fusion,FacsJazz and Influx)
The ideal candidate should have a multidisciplinary background, at the interface between microbiology, immunology and computational biology. Capability to perform in vivo experiments with murine models is a plus.
The applicant must have the ability to work as part of a team and interpersonal skills to efficiently interact with the established lab members. Good oral/written communication are mandatory since the candidate will write and/or contribute to production of research reports and publications for peer reviewed journals.
The position is available immediately but the starting date can be negotiated.
