We are pleased to announce that two research projects developed at the IRCCS Istituto Europeo di Oncologia (IEO) have been awarded in the fourth edition of Seed4Innovation, the innovation program promoted by the UNIMI Foundation and the University of Milan.

The STRIVE project, coordinated by Prof. Stefano Santaguida - IEO Group Leader and Associate Professor at the University of Milan - received the Proof of Concept grant from the Università degli Studi di Milano and aims to develop new therapies for breast cancer through the identification of specific surface markers present on cancer cells.

The EPIKIN project, developed by the team led by Dr. Gioacchino Natoli - IEO Group Leader - with contributions from Francesco Gualdrini and Sara Polletti, has been awarded a Proof of Concept Grant by the Milan Monza Brianza Lodi Chamber of Commerce and is an innovative platform for genomic profiling of kinase inhibitors, improving the progress and clinical development of these molecules and opening up new therapeutic opportunities.

IEO-TT, the IEO's Technology Transfer Office, under the direction of Marzia Fumagalli and with the operational contribution of Claudia Iavarone, Senior Specialist at IEO-TT, has enthusiastically supported the research teams in each phase of the Seed4Innovation program. The Office will continue to offer its support in the subsequent acceleration phases, with the aim of turning these innovative ideas into concrete realities.

Special thanks to the UNIMI Foundation, the University of Milan and the network of mentors coordinated by Antonio Alessandrino, who accompanied the researchers along this path, and in particular to the mentors Lavinia Capuana, Fabrizio Bacchi, Paolo Luperto and Gianluca Sferrazza, who played a crucial role in strengthening the vision and potential impact of the IEO projects.

We are extremely proud of this achievement, which is testament to the excellence and determination of our researchers and the IEO-TT team.
